Account and devices

What do I need to provide to register?

An email address you can receive mail on and a password you choose. We do not ask for a phone number, identity documents or a payment method, and the free tier works immediately after registration.

How many devices can one account bind?

Free allows one connected device, Premium allows eight and Team is based on purchased seats. The device list is visible in the account centre and you can release devices you no longer use at any time.

What happens if I exceed the device limit?

The oldest signed-in device is disconnected automatically and the new one connects normally. The account itself is never restricted, and you can nominate which devices to keep in the account centre.

I forgot my password or never received the verification email.

Choose Reset password on the sign-in page and enter your registered email; the reset link stays valid for 30 minutes. If nothing arrives after 10 minutes, check your spam folder and allow-list [email protected].

Connections and link quality

The client keeps showing connecting. How do I troubleshoot?

Work through it in this order — most cases are resolved in the first two steps:

  1. Confirm the local network loads ordinary websites;
  2. Cycle the protocol between Nova, WireGuard and IKEv2;
  3. Try a node with a higher link score, ideally in a different region;
  4. Check whether you are on a corporate or campus network that blocks UDP;
  5. On restricted networks, change the connection port to 443.

If it still fails, export a diagnostic report as described in the troubleshooting chapter and open a ticket.

What is a normal link score?

The score combines latency, jitter and packet loss. Above 85 suits live matches and voice calls, 70 to 85 is fine for browsing and file transfers, and below 70 means the route is poor and you should switch to a client-recommended node.

Why is the same node much slower in the evening?

Cross-border links share egress bandwidth with ordinary traffic at peak hours, which is a physical constraint. QuickQ responds by migrating to a standby path when quality drops; you can also prioritise the private backbone in the client settings to reduce reliance on public egress.

Connecting made my speed slower. Why?

The most common causes are a node that is not near the service you are reaching, or global mode pulling local traffic into the tunnel. Add local services to the direct list and pick the node closest to your target service — see the routing chapter.

Why does voice chat stutter even when the score looks fine?

Voice is more sensitive to jitter than to latency. If the score is healthy but calls still break up, upstream bandwidth is usually saturated. Pin the voice app to the low-jitter channel and pause background syncs or large uploads.

Bandwidth and traffic

Are there bandwidth or traffic limits on Premium?

Premium has unlimited total traffic with a peak of 800 Mbps per connection. Real-world speed depends on your local broadband, node load and where the target service is located; we do not silently throttle unlimited plans.

What happens when the free tier runs out of traffic?

You are not disconnected. Speeds are capped at 20 Mbps until the allowance resets on the first of the next month. The free tier has no auto-renewal or automatic upgrade.

How is traffic measured?

Only data that passes through the acceleration tunnel is counted; traffic from apps on your direct list is excluded. The client shows the current month's usage on the home screen and warns you as you approach the allowance.

Security and privacy

What encryption does QuickQ use?

Mobile devices default to ChaCha20-Poly1305 to reduce battery impact, while desktops can switch to AES-256-GCM. Both use X25519 key exchange for forward secrecy, with session keys rotated hourly.

Do you record which websites I visit?

No. We do not store destination domains, transferred content, DNS queries or connection timing. The account system holds only your email, subscription state and device count; nodes keep aggregated traffic counters that cannot be traced to an individual. See the privacy policy.

What is inside a diagnostic report?

Only the client version, protocol type, handshake result, error codes and link quality samples. It contains no access records, and you can open it yourself before sending it to support.

Installation and compatibility

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10 1809 or later and macOS 12 or later on desktop; iOS 15 and Android 10 or later on mobile; plus a Linux command line tool, Android TV, a browser extension and router firmware. See the download page.

Can I run QuickQ on my router?

Yes. We provide packages and configuration notes for OpenWrt 21.02 and later. Once configured, every device in the house shares the accelerated route without installing a client. Steps are in the router chapter.

The client stopped opening after a system upgrade.

Major OS upgrades sometimes reset network extension permissions. On macOS, allow QuickQ to load its network extension again under Privacy and Security; on Windows, re-run the installer to repair the virtual adapter.

Billing and refunds

Which payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay, all handled by a PCI-DSS certified gateway.

How do I request a refund?

Within 14 days of buying Premium, open the subscription page in the account centre and choose Request refund. No reason is needed, and approved refunds return to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

Contacting support

How do I reach a human agent?

Use live chat or open a ticket from the support page. Tickets are handled by on-duty engineers with an average first response of five minutes, and Team customers are assigned a dedicated advisor.

What should I attach to a ticket?

Your operating system and client version, your city and ISP, the node you selected, when the problem first appeared, and the diagnostic report exported from the client. Complete details noticeably shorten the investigation.
